Coaching for Creatives

A one-day, in-person interactive workshop introducing core coaching skills, combining theory and practical exercises to help participants in the creative sector build trust, ask effective questions, empower others, and navigate workplace conversations ethically and confidently.

About the event

This course is designed for those who are in, or soon to be in, managerial/supervisory roles in the creative sector in Wales including heads of department, producers, managers and anyone who has responsibility for others.

Coaching has become an essential part of leadership required to produce the best teams in the workplace. It encourages ownership and responsibility, leading to the workforce being happier and more motivated, and helps to evolve a positive culture in the workplace.

Workshop details

This comprehensive, interactive one-day workshop provides participants with a broad range of coaching skills, combining theory and knowledge sharing with applied practice. There is a strong focus throughout on boundaries, ethical approaches, and participant wellbeing.

The workshop will cover the cornerstones of coaching, including:

  • active listening
  • quality open questions
  • building trust and rapport
  • techniques to empower and build self agency
  • ethics and boundaries
  • goal setting.

It will also explore a range of techniques drawn from the fields of behaviour change and positive psychology, including:

  • empowering people
  • building agency and self-efficacy
  • decisional balance
  • strengths identification and application.

There will be a focus on workplace conversations, trauma-informed listening, and effective signposting to ensure participants are confident they can safeguard should any mental health or sensitive disclosures be shared.

How to attend

This course will be held in English.

It is free of charge to attend apart from eventbrite's booking fee. A discounted £10.00 Union deposit  is refunded after participation.
