Maxeen George is an award-winning, highly proficient singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in London. She has made a name for herself across the UK, performing in a wide range of settings, bands, and creative projects. Her debut EP Desert Total, composed with guitarist Martin Boyer, was recorded in Paris and released in May 2017. The EP features five of Maxeen’s cutting-edge, original compositions, inspired by years of conversations and reflections captured in her notebooks. She later self-released Over Desire, a 14-track album produced in France, on which she performs bass, piano, and guitar.

Since then, she has produced and released her own songs on her YouTube channel Crealience, where listeners can discover a collection of videos, texts, poetic interpretations of beloved songs, and numerous collaborations with artists from across the globe.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, Radiohead, B.B. King, and Pink Floyd, Maxeen has quickly gained a reputation as one of the most distinctive and technically accomplished singer-songwriters in the UK. She studied jazz in Paris and has performed in numerous bands, including The Chubs, The Zebras, B. Blues, No Rules Paris, Cat People, Funny Cocktail, VOXI XIV, Bastard Wing, Waxamo, and now Crealience.

Recognised not only for her stormy, magnetic stage presence, Maxeen’s voice is instantly identifiable by its rich texture and emotional depth. Her original bluesy, jazzy, and contemporary compositions reflect decades of encounters with people around the world, woven into her unique artistic language.

Her versatility is widely admired, with performances ranging from busking in Berlin, London, and Paris, to playing legendary pubs such as the Anchor and the Neptune, to appearing at renowned festivals and iconic venues including Le Chat Noir, New Morning, and Batofar. Known for her remarkable ability to improvise effortlessly and at length across any genre, she attributes this skill to her synaesthesia—experiencing music visually, as if watching a film. For her, composing is a form of cinematic storytelling.

Now leading her own project, Maxeen continues to captivate audiences, who praise her work as “luscious” and “vividly dramatic.” Her intense, compelling energy remains both infectious and deeply inspiring.
