About Matth.U
Matthew was born in a small town of the UK called Nuneaton, in the county of Warwickshire. His birthday is 4th August, 1997. His Mother is Keri Price (pictured here) and his farther is Jason Hickman - They both originate from the same town of Nuneaton.
Matthew is known for being the eccentric one throughout his whole life. He didn't just want to focus on 'the in' fashion, he always wanted to be that one step different to everyone else; which came very naturally for him without him realising it most of the time.
He found his singing voice funny enough in a Year 7 Science lesson with his friends: Mary-Jane, Clare, Danielle and Vikki. Matthew has always been the one to send funny singing voice notes to his friends on the 'old' MSN shell we say. His friends encouraged him to pursue his
singing for later in life as they told him he has a really good voice, (just imagine Matthew with a young kid voice) yeah, puberty hit, HARD!
With all the good, there is the bad. Matthew was severely bullied throughout Year 7 & 8, which made his school days unbearable and unpredictable. He made a pact with himself that every time he was bullied, he would write words down, particularly words that would then be made into lyrics.
This is where his songwriting passion came from - Writing down words, made into lyrics, then made into a song in his music lessons. Matthew always topped the class in Music, his teachers always saw potential and the passion he was showing in all of his lessons. Throughout his hardship, Matthew was always seen happy with his passion - The bullying never stopped him from growing into the eccentric musician he is today. He made it clear to himself that where there is a sparkle, music is there. Cant hear it? Imagine it!
