About Lucy Mair

I am a classically trained lyric soprano with an MMus in Performance and Composition and perform in oratorio, recital, concert and opera performances across the country.
Since 2009, I have taught singing of various musical genres to people of all ages and abilities, individually and in groups.
I am qualified in therapeutic counselling and have developed Person-Centred Singing. Through my own therapy, I discovered for myself that to free the voice, accept it, sing with a connection to the body and express the emotions in the text, sometimes needs more than singing techniques.
There is often a perception of singing lessons as scary and intimidating, with many potential singers never daring to try. Via a self-directed, creative route, Person-Centred Singing shifts focus from needing to sing perfectly or beautifully to singing freely and authentically.
It is beautiful and humbling for me to be alongside people as they dare to express themselves with their true voices, confidently and unapologetically.
