About Liz Fletcher

Born into a musical family, Liz first made her mark as a dancer, but it didn’t take long for her to realise that music was the true heartbeat behind everything she did. That pull toward sound and expression soon propelled her onto the jazz stage, where she quickly caught attention. Early in her vocal career, she was invited to perform with Ceri Evans and Clarke Tracey at the Ealing Jazz Festival — a debut that evolved into headlining appearances for several years.
Since then, Liz has recorded seven albums and appeared as a guest artist on numerous recordings. Her vibrant, soulful voice has taken her from intimate jazz clubs to major festivals, BBC Radio broadcasts, and leading concert halls across the UK and beyond. She has performed at iconic venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, The Festival Hall, The Purcell Room, The 606 Club, Wavendon, and even Glastonbury, sharing stages with many of the UK’s finest jazz musicians.
Liz was honoured to record two albums with the celebrated Alan Barnes and playwright Alan Plater — collaborations that showcased her versatility and deep musical instinct. She is also the principal vocalist for bassist Simon Thorpe’s nine-piece swing band Jivin’ Miss Daisy, bringing powerhouse energy to stages nationwide.
Her most recent album features several of her own compositions, highlighting her capacity as a songwriter. Liz also composed and performed a song for the award-winning documentary Garbage Warrior. In 2012, she earned a nomination for the British Jazz Awards.
While she jokingly calls herself a “jobbing jazzer,” Liz’s musical curiosity has taken her well beyond the jazz world. She has recorded and toured in the dance and electronic scene with Loop Guru, Phil Parnell, Los Ladrones, 45 Dip Squirky Music among others, and co-wrote the track “Lizzie’s Balloon.”
Never one to stay still creatively, Liz is currently exploring new ideas, new collaborations, and new sounds — always evolving, always creating.
