About Franklin Mercator-Ellis
Franklin is a passionate cello teacher, with over fifteen years of experience in three different countries. From New Zealand, he studied with Ashley Brown and Martin Rummel at the University of Auckland, before moving to Austria to pursue further instruction under Andreas Pözlberger. After graduating in 2016, he taught at music schools in Lower Austria alongside performing as a freelance musician around Upper and Lower Austria. Since 2023 he has lived in Cardiff, Wales and until July 2025 taught with Music Masters at one of their flagship schools in London.
He has played with groups exploring many different genres, including european folk music, contempory classical, musical theatre, and jazz. He enjoys telling stories through music with others.
