The MU is pleased to be attending Launchpad Conference 2026, taking place on Friday 27 March 2026 at the Leeds School of Arts, Leeds Beckett University City Campus.

This flagship event brings together musicians, industry workers, students and creatives for a full day of conversation, insight and networking with voices from across the local, national and international music scenes.

MU panel

At 12:00pm, MU Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer Dr Diljeet Bhachu will chair a panel exploring cultural diversity and representation in the music industries.

The session brings together Global Majority musicians from Leeds and the wider North of England to discuss the barriers, assumptions and structural inequities still faced across the sector.

The conversation will highlight intersectional experiences and examine practical ways to increase participation, visibility and leadership for underrepresented musicians.

MU advice sessions

Attendees will also have the chance to access direct support from the MU. From 2:00pm–4.30pm, MU North of England Regional Officer Philip Morris will be available via the ‘1to1 Speed Advice Sessions’, covering topics such as rights, fees, career development and navigating the industry.

If you are involved in music at any level and hope to gain a better understanding of the music industry – as an artist, producer, manager, promoter, student, enthusiast or otherwise, come along to find out more from leading experts and professionals.

Further speakers and programme details will be announced in the coming weeks.
