About the event

HMRC is in the middle of a big project to make all tax reporting digital. From April 2026, any sole traders earning more than £50,000 per year will have to report income and business expenses quarterly using ‘cloud accounting’ software. Businesses that are VAT registered have had to do something similar since 2022. 

Run by broadcaster, trainer and manager David Thomas, this session we look at the implications for sole trader freelancers of HMRC’s Making Tax Digital project, including:

There will be plenty of opportunity to discuss all this and ask questions during the session. David will also share his experiences (good and bad) of using cloud accounting software to help run his training business.
