About the event

The Musicians’ Union is delighted to welcome PPL (Phonographic Performance Limited, a UK-based music licensing company) for an informative event for our members in Scotland and Northern Ireland on how to ensure your music is correctly registered.

In this lunchtime session, you’ll learn the ins and outs of the registration process, from selecting the right recordings to navigating the forms.

This session will cover:

  • What music metadata is and why it’s important
  • The mandatory data required to register a recording with PPL
  • A step-by-step guide to registering a recording
  • What we mean by a recording being ‘valid’
  • How to amend your recording information

PPL’s Relationship Manager, George Prince, will guide you through each step to help ensure your repertoire is properly registered.

How to attend

There will be time for questions after the presentation. These can be submitted via the chat box during the session, or emailed in advance to charlene.hegarty@themu.org.

This webinar will be hosted via Crowd Cast and will be recorded.
