A tireless singer-songwriter & producer raised listening to J.S. Bach & Prince plus everything in between, Luis performs and records whatever he wants, whenever he wants, as he is fully independent from the music industry.


After his first steps performing and writing with several bands in his native Spain, Luis arrived to the UK in 2007 where he released several digital albums under the names of “LUIS” as well as “LUIS & THE ONE NATION”, until he decided to re-start his solo career by withdrawing all his work from the net and coming back as “LUIS CANO”. Luis released his “debut” solo album “Music” in 2014, featuring the fans favourite single “Magic”. “Music” is a mixture of new material and old songs re-arranged. Three songs (“Magic”, “Sunday” & “She’s Lonely”) were Commended Entries at the UK SONGWRITING CONTEST in 2015 on the Rock, Singer-Songwriter & Acoustic & Folk categories respectively. Afterwards, he released the EP "December" (2015) and the album “The Future" (2017). The albums “The Long Road Freedom” & “Analogue Machine” both dropped in 2019.

Luis started working on an ambitious new project in 2020, an album featuring musical heroes that influenced him. The first single, was “Hero” (2020), feat. Freak Power’s band leader Ashley Slater on trombone and horns arrangement plus many regular collaborators, making it his most collaborative track to date. “HERO” the album, was finally released in October 2021 featuring many musicians from the funk to the pop/rock and jazz scene making it a demonstration of Luis’ ability to write and produce across genres. Luis dropped the personal and one-man-band album “LOST LOVE SONGS & FAIRY TALES” only weeks after “HERO”. Both “HERO” & “LOST LOVE SONGS & FAIRY TALES” received once again recognition at the 2021 UK SONGWRITING CONTEST, with Commended Entries for 4 of their tracks, including the lead single “Hero”, which took two commended entries and a 5 star rating in one of the categories.



The latest album by Luis Cano is “RED” (2022) with Luis performing all instruments and vocals and also writing all the songs. “RED” mixes funk with rock, hip hop and jazz/fusion musically and addresses lyrically many of the human contradictions in a crude and direct way, pushing for hope and love/understanding between human beings. As he explains on the Bandcamp description of this release: “RED is BLOOD. It separates us and unites us. RED is LOVE.
All Bandcamp earnings from this album will go towards a humanitarian, anti-discrimination or social cause in perpetuity.

Luis also just released a funk new single called “THAT” in July 2022.



Luis combines his solo efforts with many one-off collaborations, creating a very diverse catalogue including both session work and producing credits with other acts around the world. Luis has also recently joined the backing band of legendary San Francisco singer songwriter Holly Penfield as a keyboard player.


Luis also combines his artistic side with music teaching and mentoring future musicians including a wide experience working within the SEN world.
