AIR Studios has been fighting a planning application for major alteration works that would cause such disruption that the studio would most likely close.

The closure of AIR Studios would affect the employment of many session and orchestral musicians, as well as studio staff, producers and engineers.

You may know AIR Studios as the location of many film soundtrack recordings, including recent releases ‘Dunkirk’ and ‘Wonder Woman’. Others you may know include ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Kubo and the Two Strings’, ‘Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them’, ‘Queen of Katwe’,’Captain America: Civil War’ and ‘Nocturnal Animals’.

There will be a public hearing to discuss the implications of the planning application on AIR Studios, and we encourage all those affected by any change to the studios to take part.

Date: Tuesday 26 – Wednesday 27 September
Time: 10am
Where: Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, London, WC1H 9JE

We have been told that the size of the room being booked for the hearing will depend on the number of people who express a wish to attend.

A large turn out from our side would stress the essential nature of this building and how much it means to the music community.

If you would like to attend one or both days please would you email Rob Tulloch at rob.tulloch@camden.gov.uk and let him know your intentions to come.
