We encourage other organisations and businesses to donate to our hardship fund so that we can maximise our efforts to make sure musicians can afford to stay in the profession.

The download of the concert is to cost £9.99 and the Mackintosh Foundation will separately donate £5.00 to be distributed across the MU Coronavirus Hardship Fund, Captain Tom Moore’s Walk for the NHS fund, plus the charity Acting for Others.

In addition, Mackintosh launched the fundraising today by donating £100,000 from his foundation. Anyone who purchases the download will have the chance to donate directly to these vital sources of support.

MU General Secretary Horace Trubridge said:

“We very much welcome this kind gesture from Cameron Mackintosh and his team. Our members have lost all their work and the uncertainty of when things will be up and running again is causing widespread alarm as well as financial hardship throughout the profession.

“We applaud CML for taking this action and we would also like to encourage other organisations and businesses, that heavily rely on the talents of our members, to think about donating to our hardship fund so that we can maximise our efforts to make sure musicians can afford to stay in the profession.”

The concert can be pre-ordered online.
