Free Folk Workshop for 12-18 Year Olds in Somerset

An exciting opportunity has opened up for talented young musicians to learn from National Youth Folk Ensemble leaders and inspirational folk performers Sam Sweeney and Rob Harbron, at this free workshop.

An exciting opportunity has opened up for talented young musicians to learn from National Youth Folk Ensemble leaders and inspirational folk performers Sam Sweeney and Rob Harbron, at this free workshop.

Participants will learn folk tunes by ear and turn them into full band arrangements through a collaborative and creative process.

They will have the chance to develop their listening skills, learn folk-specific techniques and play with other musicians in a fun folk ensemble.

All instruments are welcome, participants just need to be aged 12-18 and grade four or above on their chosen instruments. Non-members can participate for free too, so pass the word on.

The workshop will be held at CYM Taunton, Richard Huish College, South Road, Taunton, Somerset TA1 3DZ on Saturday 19 January between 9:30am - 12:30pm.
