We completely oppose the use of Public Space Protection Orders as a way of regulating busking.

Buskers have entertained the public on Portobello Road, in the museum district, and outside Harrods for many years. Now, they could be subjected to a fine of up to £1000 for continuing this rich musical tradition.
The MU has a long-established and successful Busking Code of Conduct that operates both across the country and within London under the Mayor’s Busk in London initiative. It is still surprising that local councillors do not see fit to use these successful schemes in their borough.
