As part of the MU’s work with CULT Cymru, we are delighted to announce the opening of applications for the second cohort of their new mentoring programme for members living and/or working in Wales.

The opportunity is open to freelance MU members working in the music industry.

Successful applicants will receive 6 months of free mentoring sessions

Starting in Autumn 2024, the 6-month programme will involve monthly online sessions where you will be encouraged and supported to learn and progress in your career.

Successful applicants will be matched with mentors who are established and currently working in the industry in their chosen field.

Applications are welcomed from those returning to the industry after a break including parental leave, long-term sickness or caring responsibilities.

CULT Cymru also encourages applications from those in groups under-represented in live entertainment and the arts in Wales: Women, people from the Global Majority, disabled and LGBTQ+ communities and those from a less privileged socio-economic background.

Join an online Q&A session for more details

There is a 1-hour webinar being held (in English) on Wednesday 24 July from 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm for anyone who is interested in applying.

The session will provide further details and assist with any questions you may have about the programme or the application process.

Submit your application before July 28

Those wishing to develop their career in live entertainment and the arts in Wales are strongly encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates for mentorship will also be required to complete a Welsh Government Learner Form and an evaluation form at the end of the process, and will be invited to contribute their story as a case study (GDPR compliance applies). The benefits of receiving mentoring often emerge further down the line.

The deadline for submissions is 12:00 am on July 28 2024.
