Raising a Motion with the London Regional Committee

Last updated: 26 July 2024

A motion is a proposal for action that, if passed by a vote of the members at Conference, must be adopted by the Union. To first raise a motion with the London Regional Committee (LRC), you will need to fill in an LRC Motion Form. You can do this via the button below.

In order for your motion to be considered by the Committee, you will need to provide full names and membership numbers of five supporting MU members. They must be current members of the MU London Region.

When writing your motion, remember that you are writing a view that you wish the Committee to adopt. This is why the suggestions on the form begin "This Committee...". They are only suggestions though, and you should write in your own voice.

You can find more guidance and tips on how to write a good motion via the links below:

To find out when the next deadline is for submitting motions to the LRC, or if you have any questions, please email us at london@themu.org.

We look forward to receiving your motion.
