About Juliet

We are Juliet and the Raging Romeos, a 4-piece band based in Reading influenced by such garage punk greats as The Gories, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Lovely Eggs. We like to see our music as free from “rockisms” and with a tinge of the post-punk sense of adventure and fearless look into a better tomorrow.

We have been gigging in Reading and Oxford for many year, playing in a number of venues including the Rising Sun Arts Centre, South Street, the Facebar, the Purple Turtle (Reading) the Weatsheaf and The Library (Oxford). We would like to keep gigging locally in Oxford and Reading and perhaps start taking over London soon.

So far we’ve released a 7” vinyl single (do ask us for a copy if you’d like one) and a 4-song EP on tape. The single has been played a number of times on BBC Introducing Berkshire (where it won the Demo of the Week) and Oxfordshire, and as far as Radio Eins in Berlin. We’ve got glowing reviews in print magazines like Rollling Stone (German Edition), Oxford’s Nightshift, and several other online media.

We would like to keep our steady progression as a band, keeping our strong DIY ethos and a sense of everything-is-possible. Play in better places, make better music and all in all, make a contribution toward a brighter future, small as it might be.
