About Jason Holcomb

Live performer, band leader, recording artist, session musician, lecturer, educator, and arranger. I am currently the Head of Brass Studies at Newcastle University as well as the Director of the Newcastle University Music Department Ensemble Programme. Additionally, I am the Music Director for the Youth Jazz/Afro-American Music Ensemble, "Jambone" at The Sage Gateshead. I perform regularly with my own ensembles including the Castillo Nuevo Trio, Funk City Brass Band, and as Slide and The Family Bones. I have recorded with a number of notable artists/producers including Ron Fair (Geffen Records) and most recently for the Ibiza Dance artist Lajente with the single "Joy" being featured on the popular reality show, "Love Island". My own single, "St. James Infirmary" has been played on Jazz FM and BBC Newcastle and has been featured on the website "All About Jazz" as the track of the week.
