The Fringe Society is undertaking research on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council to provide insight into the experience of buskers in the city and inform their approach to managing the needs of performers, residents, businesses and visitors.

They are asking MU members to contribute to this research and take part in a two-minute survey.

Ensure artists needs are reflected in future council decisions

The Fringe Society have been capturing artist insight into their experiences of busking in Edinburgh year round, to help ensure the City of Edinburgh Council understands the artist impact when considering any changes to their approach to busking and noise management in the city.

The research will be shared with the working group established by the council, which includes representatives from MU and Equity, with the aim of helping ensure any codes of practice (or similar) reflect the needs of artists, residents, businesses and visitors alike.

Take part in a two-minute survey

The survey is open until Monday 4 November, and all data will be anonymised and aggregated before sharing with relevant stakeholders.

Any information you provide will be retained by the Fringe Society and not used for any purposes other than producing the report.  All personal information will be redacted and any insights will be provided in aggregate to ensure anonymity.
