Final Announcements on Discounts and Sessions as Education Conference Approaches

With just over two weeks to go until our MU Education Conference commences, there’s still time to book your place – and booking for free one-to-one consultations and coaching sessions is now open to all delegates.

As our Education Conference approaches on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 October, we have some announcements:

  1. The full conference programme of quality CPD is now published
  2. Booking for one-to-one consultations and coaching sessions is now open – free for all delegates as part of the conference
  3. Exclusive offer for delegates: free access to Naxos MusicBox

We are excited to be returning to in-person events, and our venue is the excellent Resonance, Dudley’s state-of-the-art music college. Two-day tickets include a dinner and drinks reception on the first evening.

Haven’t booked your place yet? Book here. Discounted one- and two-day tickets are available for members, and we are offering a limited number of subsidised hotel rooms. Please contact education@theMU.org with any hotel requests, dietary or access requirements.

One-to-one Consultations and Coaching Sessions

MU Education Official David Barnard and professional coach Marion Friend MBE are offering 30-minute one-to-one sessions for delegates.

Marion’s coaching sessions are ideal for those who would value a confidential space to discuss any immediate or longer-term issues. These may include career development, challenges in their professional environment, the impact of change in the workplace, and balancing a teaching and performing portfolio. Delegates can book their coaching session here.

David Barnard’s consultations are for employment issues including employment status, contractual issues, issues with management or colleagues, managing a freelance portfolio, running a business, training needs, and any broader issues of professional practice and development. Exclusive Conference Offer: Naxos MusicBox

Naxos UK are offering all delegates to the MU Conference access to Naxos MusicBox resource absolutely free until the end of November 2021.

MusicBox is a comprehensive introduction to the world of music, suitable mainly for students aged eight to 14. It has sections on 60 of the world’s great composers, instruments of the orchestra, world music, and stage and screen, with over 4,000 video and listening examples. The large activities section includes downloadable teacher support material and extended composition and wider listening tasks.
