PPL for Independent Venue Week Presents: Q&A with ‘Big Special’

In celebration of Independent Venues week, the MU has joined forces with the UK’s music licensing company, PPL, who are hosting a Q&A session with upcoming Midlands duo ‘Big Special’. Attendees will also be able to network and ask questions to industry experts.

About the event

The well-known Birmingham venue The Hare & Hounds will be hosting an in-conversation event with one of 2024’s breakout bands,  Big Special, followed by a PPL networking mixer – all as part of our support for Independent Venue Week 2025.

Meet the MU

Attendees will also get the chance to meet Midlands Membership Services Assistant, Jenny Simpson, to discuss all things Union membership.

MU Royalties Official Jess Craig, from our Recording & Broadcasting department, will also be there to answer questions about the many ways we support recording artists and performers.

Did you know? The MU’s own Royalties Department collects between £1.5 million to £2 million a year for musicians, for the secondary and further use of recordings.

How to attend

Spaces are limited and you will need to book a ticket in advance to attend. Please note, tickets to that evening’s live show (at the Hare & Hounds from 7.30pm) with KEG should be bought separately.
