About Yuliya Ostapchuk
From a young age, Ukrainian violinist Yuliya Ostapchuk was awarded prizes at several international competitions and participated in masterclasses with violinists such as Igor Ozim, Mi-Kyung Lee, Maxim Vengerov as well as Keshet Eilon International Summercourse. In 2011, Yuliya moved to London to study at the Purcell School of Music and has since performed recitals at Milton Court and Wigmore Hall as well as concerti across Europe.
Yuliya won the Arthur Felsenstein Leaver’s award before joining The Royal Academy of Music in 2017, graduating with First-Class Honours as well as a Licenciate Diploma in teaching. Later in 2021, Ostapchuk went onto her Master’s degree at The Royal College of Music, studying with Itzhak Rashkovsky. During her studies, Yuliya has worked with esteemed conductors, to name a few - Semyon Bychkov, Vasily Petrenko, Charles Dutoit and Marin Alsop. In the near future, Yuliya will perform Beethoven Symphony No. 9 memorised as part of Aurora Orchestra at The Royal Albert Hall BBC Prom 2024. Ostapchuk is currently on trial with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in the second violin section and The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra in the first violin section.
As an active orchestral player, Yuliya plays with orchestras such as Aurora Orchestra, Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed internationally in venues including Berlin Konzerthaus, Paris Theatre Du Chatelet, Tonhalle Zurich and Dubai Opera. In 2023, Ostapchuk was selected as Glyndebourneʼs Jerwood ‘Pit Perfect’ recipient to join the company for autumn season. Later on in 2024, Ostapchuk was selected for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Career Accelerator Scheme. Yuliya is also an Associate Fellow of The Alpine Fellowship and a 2022 Benedetti Foundation Ambassador. Yuliya is very grateful to the Harrison Frank Family Foundation for loaning her the Santagiuliana 1790 violin that she is very honoured to be performing with.
