About Heidi Fardell
Heidi is a freelance recorder player, Baroque flautist, music tutor and workshop director, performing with early music groups such as Armonico Consort, Fiori Musicali, and Sounds Historical. Heidi also collaborates and records with many contemporary artists.
Heidi gained her Bmus (Hons) and Mmus in performance qualifications at Goldsmiths University (1998-2004) and studied recorders with a variety of tutors including Louise Bradbury, Dan Laurin, Katriina Boosey and Peter Holtslag. Heidi also studied on a further PgCert degree course at Birmingham Conservatoire specialising in the Baroque Flute.
Alongside her recorder playing, Heidi is also a respected musician in education - Heidi is the vice chair of the European Recorder Teachers Association UK and and adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals. From 2006-2019 Heidi held the post of recorder tutor at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance Junior department and has taught in a wide variety of educational settings across London and Oxfordshire since 2001.
With her colleagues in Sounds Historical, Heidi creates bespoke musical workshops for a variety of clients who have included Kensington Palace, the Royal Festival Hall, Handel House Museum, Tate Britain and the National Gallery.
Heidi is also the co director of the Banbury Early Music Festival.
