About Caroline Luxton White

Caroline is the lead singer for Coventry-based originals band Alchemista who play an eclectic mix of songs but have recently been described as 'folky-pop'. The band includes: Caroline Luxton-White on vocals, Paul Jayes on keyboards, Pete Garelick on guitar, Pete Clark on bass and Colin Halliwell on drums. Caroline is also re-starting her solo career which she left behind in 2015 when Alchemista was formed.

Alchemista's influences include folk-rock, prog-rock, blues, and soul - as a more 'mature' band who are young at heart, we've gathered a range of influences as we've progressed through life :) Achievements include tracks being played on BBC Introducing Coventry and Warwickshire from our past three releases ('On The Morrow', 'Clear Skies To Sea' and 'Summer's Healing Time'), being played 6,000 times on Spaceshower in Japan, and playing at local music festivals such as Earlsdon Festival, Warwick Beer Festival and UHCW Charity Fest.

Reviewing our last EP, “Clear Skies to See”, in Hot Music Live, Andy Holdcroft said, “Alchemista are definitely a band unlike any others around here currently and I recommend their classic song writing and playing style to you. The tracks are admirably clear, and you can appreciate both the excellent vocals and often very subtle instrumental touches. Above all, the songs have very clear meanings and have obviously been wrought with care, intelligence and love.”
