Fair Play Venue The Bell Inn A community owned and supported music pub, specialising in jazz, blues, folk and roots performances with a second room available for hire with PA and engineer. Please check their website. We are a historic free house and music pub on the edge of Bath city centre and are well-known for quality music. We host three to four free entry gigs per week with eclectic and enthusiastic audiences. We offer an open mic on Thursday’s and usually run gigs at the beginning of the week and Sunday lunchtime. What we're looking for We offer the classic pub band two 45 minute sets, without support (unless one comes with a tour package) and include House PA and engineer (no backline) and a standard drinks rider. Due to the layout of the building and not wishing to duplicate other thriving venues in the city, we do not run the following genres: rock, indie, metal, post-rock, punk, pop, electronic, electronic dance, C&W, mainstream jazz. We also do not run cover or tribute acts. We have a dedicated solos/duos acoustic night for strictly folk/blues/jazz/Americana/ethnic/soul/unusual genres. We cannot cater for artists using backing tapes, samples, loops or other electronics: a DJ/beats generator is great as part of a live hip hop-influenced ensemble, but probably not as the only rhythm section, unless way out of genre. We look for acts who have strong instrumental skills as well as great songs. We also offer a second room, with PA and engineer for hire (you would be required to run your own door), at affordable rates most nights of the week. How to book a gig? We only take enquiries via email (not phone or social media). It's imperative to link us to at least three tracks of what you sound like live - including the lineup you are proposing. Please also describe yourselves in a couple of sentences and say where else you play (including if this is near us) and whether this is part of a tour etc. It’s important to note that due to the amount of enquiries we get, we don't usually reply quickly and can sometimes be booked up to six months in advance.
