About the event
Did you know that one person in four will experience some form of mental health condition in the course of a year?
This eMHFA Wales training course, offered by CULT Cymru, aims to improve mental health awareness and help people in the creative sectors to recognise the signs and symptoms of someone with mental health conditions.
Participants will learn how to:
- give initial help to someone experiencing a mental health problem
- deal with a crisis situation or the first signs of someone developing mental ill health
- guide people towards appropriate support
Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of attendance from Mental Health First Aid Wales.
The course can be completed from the convenience of your home or office at your own pace through interactive online modules and webinars. Please be aware that this course can be triggering for some people at times.
Dates and times
The course will take place over an introduction and two webinars with work to complete independently between the two sessions.
Introduction: Monday 10 March, 9:15am - 10:15am
Independent work: Complete modules 1-3 online before Monday 24th March
Webinar 1 (Revise modules 1-3): Monday 24 March 9:15am - 12:45pm
Independent work: Complete modules 4 and5 online before Monday 31 March
Webinar 2 (Revise modules 4-5): Monday 31 March 9:15am - 12:45am
About the trainer
Bethan Roberts has been a mental health first aid instructor since 2008, regularly delivering courses to a range of organisations across the public, private and third sectors. At Cardiff University, she is a tutor on mental health and has provided training on mental health in civil service departments across Britain.
Bethan also teaches mindfulness, and is a coach and teacher for Bangor University's mindfulness research and practice centre.
