About the event

This interactive workshop aims to provide those working in the creative industries with the key knowledge and skills required to offer colleagues/friends compassionate and effective grief support.

We can experience grief after any significant life change, but especially when an important bond is broken, such as the end of a relationship or after a bereavement.

By the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Recognise the different ways grief can manifest and have an impact on people’s lives
  • Understand some foundational grief models that help people navigate the grieving process
  • Build confidence in how to approach emotionally challenging conversations with someone experiencing grief
  • Have awareness of the ways that trauma can affect someone
  • Identify appropriate techniques for supporting specific groups e.g.
  • Learn how care-filled lives support growth and adaptation, whether we’re grieving or supporting
  • Introduce participants to the concept of the Grief Map and Grief Guides
