About Peter O'Hare
Peter is proud of his 100% success rate teaching ABRSM piano exams up to grade 8. He has also accompanied grade exams for other instrumentalists to the same high level. In addition to Grade 8 piano, Peter is a Grade 8 Guitarist and Vocalist. Peter has a Bachelor of Music (hons) Degree from Lancaster University, PGCE teaching qualification from Leeds University and is Licentiate Teacher of Trinity College of Music, London. His career includes being a class teacher, music teaching, headteacher and lecturing in Music at Bradford College. Peter regularly performs concerts in a range of styles.
Peter's songs for schools have been published by Starshine Music and Threedom Solutions Ltd.
Peter is an accomplished MD and has performed on piano or guitar and directed music for performances of The Wedding Singer, Grease, Joseph, Madness the Musical, Flashdance and his own composition - All This Love (see below). More recently, Peter has been working with Brighouse Theatre Productions in pantomime performances of Dick Whittington and Aladdin.

• Whole School Worship where Peter leads the children and staff singing his original songs including
o Turn to Me (a song of friendship – Peter’s most popular to date)
o The Books of Life (a spiritual reflection on human or Christian values)
o Good to be Me (important SMSC themes e.g. self worth/confidence)
• Year Group or class Based Singing Sessions with exciting, engaging songs to help children learn and remember important key skills
o Times tables (an original setting for each times table)
o The VCOP Song (Vocabulary, punctuation and spelling)
o Spelling patterns (ing, ed, simple vowel sounds)
• Class Based Lyric Writing Sessions
o Exploring and manipulating language to set rhythms or grooves!
o Looking at poetic techniques including rhyme, assonance and figurative language with examples from popular music
o Children develop confidence expressing their ideas in lyrical and musical forms
• Class Based Song Writing
o Writing a song to children’s lyrics or a developing a ‘school song’
o Shared lyrical and musical ideas will be developed
o A simple demo recording of the song will be completed by the end of the session
