The Creative Census is the most comprehensive annual research into the creative sector in Cornwall, and provides evidence of the importance of the rural creative economy.

By taking part, you are helping to make the case for funding and investment, and to help Cornwall Council understand what support the creative sector really needs.

The survey will close on Thursday 6 March 2025.

Who can take part?

If you work or volunteer in the creative industries in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly, you can take part in the 2025 Creative Census.

This includes freelancers, organisations, and businesses of all sizes. If you work part-time or have another job alongside your creative activity, you are also encouraged to fill out this survey.

What will the survey ask me?

The Creative Census gathers evidence to support Cornwall’s Creative Manifesto.

It gathers in-depth intelligence about creative businesses in Cornwall, such as:

  • What is their contribution to Cornwall’s economy?
  • Which sub-sectors are they working in?
  • How can we understand opportunities for growth and the barriers preventing it?

The survey will only take 10-15 minutes to complete and most questions are optional, so you will be able skip any that aren’t relevant to you. Please do not include any personal information (organisation name, email address, postal address, etc) in any answers.

The information you provide will be processed by officers working in Cornwall Council's Culture Team and Economy and Skills Service. Individual responses will not be passed on to any third parties.
