Stand Up to Racism (SUTR) is holding its annual conference at the Wesley Euston Hotel in London on Saturday 1 March. It will also be fully accessible online as a hybrid event.
Backed by Trades Union Congress (TUC), the conference aims to unite workers across sectors to build an anti-racist, anti-fascist movement rooted in the organised working class.
How our unions can protect our diverse communities from the far right
It is crucial that as trade unionists, we organise to put our unions at the forefront of the anti-racist and anti-fascist struggle.
Attendees will learn how to help organise in their union and be part of the discussion on how to effectively organise from the level of the workplace to challenge the myths and lies pushed into our communities by the far right to divide us.
The conference will explore and organise how our unions can lead mass united activity in every locality to build a strong and well rooted defence of our diverse communities.
The conference will include workshops, speeches and panels
Journalists, historians and activists from across the trade union and anti racist movement will be present to deliver workshops and speeches throughout the day.
These include journalist and historian Taj Ali, activists from Ver.di trade union in Germany, CEO of Safe Passage Wanda Wyposka and Nazek Ramadan, founder of Migrant Voice Nazek Ramadan, with more to be announced.
