About the event
Please join us in person or online to hear an overview of the work of the Scotland & Northern Ireland office, and to have your say about what's important to you locally and in the wider music industry. It could be a venue under threat, issues with an engager, changes to music education, or a new type of employment that doesn’t work for musicians.
Our democratic structures means that everything we say and do has the power of over 35,000 musicians behind it. Our AGMs are a vital part of that – from the issues you raise and discuss to standing for committees, your AGM is your opportunity to use your power.
Guest speaker and networking
We'll also be joined by guest speaker Michel Rodriguez Alonso, Cultural Attache for the Cuban Embassy. Glasgow has been twinned with Havana since 2002 and in that time there have been a number of initiatives to bolster cultural connections, including whisky promotion in Cuba and the Havana Glasgow Film festival. We look forward to welcoming their representative to the Scotland and Northern Ireland AGM and hearing more about this work.
Following the meeting there will also be drinks and networking - a chance to connect with fellow members as well as Scotland and Northern Ireland MU officials. We look forward to welcoming you.
