About the event
The Midlands AGM will take place this year at The Crescent Theatre, Sheepcote Street, Birmingham. This is your chance to find out what the union has been up to on our patch over the last 12 months, and for members to contribute to what we’ll be doing in the next 12 months through discussion and motions (motions need to be sent in advance) to set our regional priorities for 2025.
This year’s AGM will be different however. As well as the usual AGM business, we have a leading music producer and author in the region, Jonny Amos, to talk about his career, how to get ahead in the business, and to answer questions from members to help your own career along.
We’ll provide some live music too, courtesy of one of the top Midlands' up and coming international acts ‘Call Me Unique’; some food; and the opportunity to network and socialise with other musicians and MU staff including the MU Assistant General Secretary Phil Kear. What’s not to like?
Our democratic structures means that everything we say and do has the power of over 35,000 musicians behind it. Our AGMs are a vital part of that – from the issues you raise and discuss to standing for committees, your AGM is your opportunity to use your power.
