Seeking Guidance From Our Contract Advisory Service

Following a recent case study we would like to remind MU members to reach out to their Regional Office when they are offered contracts – where we will be able to advise you.

When you are just starting out as a musician, coming out of a college or conservatoire, it can be difficult to know who to approach for work, or what is a good offer – from gigs to full-on management.

One company we learned of recently was Vida Arts Management, who charge €100 per month to send emails to festivals and other engagers on behalf of their clients. This is the sort of contract that – if offered to you – you should always contact your Regional Office about, for their advice.

Many times you could achieve the same thing yourself and save €1200 a year, but we would always be able to give advice that is specific to your situation – and if it seemed like a good deal, we can use our Contract Advisory Service to get the contract checked over by a music industry lawyer for you.
