£1,000 Career Development Bursary for Artists from Under-Represented Communities

Applications are open for artists from under-represented communities to apply for a £1,000 career development bursary from Creative Access.

The annual Creative Access Career Development Bursary is now open for applications, with the aim of helping to alleviate some of the financial barriers artists face while progressing their career in the creative economy.

Artists from under-represented communities can apply for a bursary of up to £1,000

This opportunity has been created to support talent from under-represented communities who either want to break into, or develop their creative career.

The bursary can cover essential career development costs, including:

  • Training courses (including driving lessons)
  • Equipment or software purchase (at an appropriate specification for your career stage)
  • Equipment or venue hire
  • Relocation costs (e.g. deposit or rent support)
  • Contribution to living costs whilst working or training (e.g. travel and accommodation)
  • Disability access support
  • Care costs
  • Coaching or mentoring
  • Participation in career development programmes (e.g. Springboard and Thrive)

The fund does not cover academic courses, debts, costs that should be paid for by an employer, or expenses for activities that have already occurred.

'Learn More' online FAQ session

Creative Access will be holding an online ‘Learn More’ session on Wednesday 9 October from 1-2pm for those interested to find out more about the opportunity and ask any questions before applying.

Applications for the bursary close on Monday 4 November, and successful applicants will be contacted in mid-December.
