Performers call on European legislators to ensure fair treatment of performers in the digital world

The Fair Internet campaign is calling on the European Commission to reconsider weak proposals in the current draft Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market.

The Fair Internet campaign is calling on the European Commission to reconsider its current position and weak proposals contained in the current draft Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market. 
 
The campaign wants the European Parliament and European Union (EU) member states to ensure that performers receive a fair share of online revenues through an unwaivable remuneration right for digital uses of their work, collected from digital platforms that make the performances available on demand, and subject to mandatory collective management.
